Creature Lab was one of our MOST POPULAR classes during the school year and we are continuing this magical class over the summer! Teacher Haley returns to us with new ideas, creatures, and excitement as she ignites the imagination through storytelling by empowering kids as creators of their own creatures, worlds, planets, and universes! Each day of Creature Lab will feature the creation of a different creature, including pet rocks, pocket puppets, chia pets, flat friends, natural disasters, fuzzballs and more. Playful story-makers and avid artists will thrive in this whimsical whirlwind of silly, original, imaginary creatures!

We are offering an AM class and a PM class during Week 4.
Taught by long time ASC and Camp Gateway staff member and magical artist: Haley Brown!

A class for dreamers, believers, drawers, listeners, storytellers, imps, pixies, goblins, elves, witches, wizards, and even regular humans who think they might have a touch of magic in them. During the week, we will gather for story-reading and magic-making. Campers will create their own faerie gardens, gnome homes, witch/wizard wands, spell pendants, and more. This class will alternate these more involved crafts with simpler sensory activities like cloud dough, oobleck, and dreamy foam-prints during fairytale readings. Faeries, Fantasy, and Folklore will have a mellow energy – perfect for students who need relaxed imagination time. Magical cloaks, wings, and other costumes are welcome, but they may get messy! Grades 2 – 4; younger/older kids are welcome with instructor’s permission.
