Camp Gateway is excited to announce a new partnership with A.N.T.S. Tennis! Gateway fourth grade teacher and certified coach Kurt Almendras uses the revolutionary A.N.T.S. philosophy and curriculum to teach skills that will help campers both on and off the court. The A.N.T.S. method focuses on healthy youth development and also brings a supportive team environment to what has traditionally been a very individual sport. This unique approach is coupled with age appropriate smaller nets and racquets along with larger tennis balls to make children more immediately successful in their early tennis experiences. Through the “most touches possible partner work, practice AND play” philosophy, your child stays engaged the entire class. Young players develop faster AND get the chance to really PLAY tennis! Equipment is provided but you can also purchase the age appropriate equipment if you would like to keep it after the class is over.
Lights! Camera! Action! Join professional actor Ralph Peduto for this acting workshop. Children will get on-camera experience and widen their appreciation and understanding of film, TV and other media. Children will also learn skills and techniques of on-camera acting, camera awareness, auditioning, performing, script analysis and more, while having lots of fun!
Calling all animal enthusiasts! This class continues the work we have been doing in our perennial camper favorite, Animal Lovers. Through a combination of field trips, walking explorations and classroom visits from animal experts, children will get up-close-and-personal with a variety of feathered, scaly and furry friends. The perfect class for budding veterinarians! Transportation will be provided as needed from the Gateway campus.
