First Year at Gateway 2007
Experience Emily started teaching at a local childcare center where she eventually became Program Director. She completed her student teaching in the dual immersion program at Delaveaga Elementary School and the bilingual program at Gault Elementary School. She also worked as a teaching assistant in Gateway's Life Lab Science Program. Emily currently teaches in the Early Childhood Education department at Cabrillo College.
"I strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment that honors children and families, preserves and promotes a love of learning, and supports children to see themselves as capable and competent learners," Emily says. "I work to create an environment that values teamwork and diversity and allows students to construct knowledge in developmentally appropriate ways."
