Experience Kurt grew up in Northridge, California. He attended the University of California at Santa Cruz, graduating with a major in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in City Policy and Planning. After some time working at a software company and traveling to Europe and the Pacific, Kurt went on to complete the teacher credential program at the College of Notre Dame.
Kurt has been teaching since the late twentieth century (1998). After two years teaching fifth grade in the San Bruno Park School District, he returned to Santa Cruz and began teaching fifth grade at Gateway. He started teaching fourth grade in 2006.
In his spare time, Kurt enjoys surfing, playing tennis, mountain biking, and walking his dog. Backpacking in the Sierras is a summer tradition for Kurt. He has also been learning to play guitar and soon hopes to know more than three chords.
