We have an unofficial tally: Kurt's class came in 1st place with 1,396 lbs. of canned food! The total Gateway contribution was 6,340 lbs! Many, many thanks to all the Gateway students and families for their contributions and to the 6th graders for their leadership and commitment!
2nd grade faculty Cathy and Patricia and 2nd grade students and parents have created a beautiful Ofrenda in celebration of "Los Dias de los Muertos".
Pledge Your Wedge! Please consider at what level your family can participate in the Annual Giving Campaign. Our combined gifts create a strong school year for all the children. "Drive Thru Pledging" at drop-off and pick-up this week!
Gateway has adopted It's Beach! On Friday, Sept. 18th, our 6th graders will complete our commitment to the beach by providing the school's third beach cleanup for 2009. Saturday Sept. 19th is the county-wide beach clean-up day. For more information on how to particpate, contact Save Our Shores at www.saveourshores.org.
If you would like to help us save paper and postage, you can have your monthly billing statement delivered to you by email instead of US mail. About 25% of our families have already signed up for this option. If you would like to sign up, contact Rima in the Business Office at rima.dunton@gatewaysc.org.
The whole school gathered in the Welcome Back Assembly this morning where Percy introduced new faculty, then all teachers were introduced and sang a song to the children. The Student Council Co-Presidents welcomed new students to our community and everyone sang the song Circle of Peace.

Join us Monday August 31st from 9am - 2pm for our annual Campus Improvement Day! This is a great opportunity to meet other families, to address the school's physical needs, and to show your child how meaningful community service is. Children are welcome to participate as long as they remain under your supervision.
